(Cities of at least 500,000 people)

I haven't lived in too many other places but I have travelled. And you really need to live in a city to come to the conclusion on whether it has a severe traffic problem or not

So, for people thats been around, what are your top 3?

Here's some ideas based on my travels:

Modesto
Stockton
Bakersfield
Fresno

Denver (is good for its size)

These are bad for their size:
Colorado Springs
Sacramento

205 in San Joaquin County is one of the worst points of congestion in all of Northern California.

Mainly due to folks traveling to jobs in the Bay Area. Its horrendous.

Sacramento just doesn't have enough freeways or a beltway.

Based on the OP's popualtion limit of 500,000+, looks like the least congested cites are Portland (least congested) followed by Fresno then Tucson.

That's right, I was just thinking about traffic within the city when I put that one down.

Modesto has had that problem too (with the bay commuters).
