In reality they would be top 3, but I come across very few posters here from Boston so it doesn't seem as bad.

But all of the people I know who have actually visited SF or lived there loved it so much. There is much more to SF than what is portrayed in the national media. The highly biased right-wing faction of the media has shorted us to being, well, "the city with all the gay people". This is what many people immediately think when SF is mentioned. But there is sooo much more to SF than that. It's a shame that a huge percentage of the American public only associates SF with nothing but Gay people. Now, there is nothing wrong with being Gay. Most SF residents are known their tolerance to different types of people. But the reason SF natives constantly boost our city is because there is a huge vibrant diverse insider culture that exists there that is largely unknown to most of the country outside of the Bay Area and California.
Plenty of people in the Bay Area stereotype other regions all across this country yet get all defensive and butt hurt when people do it to them in my experience. Not so much on this site but I've seen and experienced it in person more than would have liked. Most people aren't like that but too many are imo although it's not the only place where people do that, just seems to be a bit worse due to the attitude some people have here.

Along with SF and NYC, some DC and PHilly posters are about as bad as anyone.

I'd say, right now at least, that it's pretty soundly NYC, SF, Philly, Atlanta, and Chicago. The Atlanta and Houston pluggers have died down a lot in the last few months, but the Philly homers took their place, and right now, there's a couple threads raging that have gotten some of us Bay Area folk out in force - however, at least we're using stats rather than just saying we're "better" or calling other cities "sissies."
I fully agree with this list, although I would definitely add DC to it. They boost it to no end. And I agree on LA.

You have GOT to be kidding me. I realize that you are fairly new here, but you need to read through some more of these threads and separate yourself from any bias before making a statement like that. Whatever Philly bashing has come from us not only originated HEAVILY from their side, but they have bashed us back tenfold. Half the time, anyone in favor of SF saying even something as benign as, "Philly is nice but I like SF better," is constituted as "bashing" by some Philly boosters. If you don't believe me I'll dig up some old threads to link you too if I find the time.

Sorry, but we have endured quite a lot from a bunch of that city's posters in particular, and the way things have gone down on this site for the last few years I find it very frustrating to read a completely false and one-sided claim like what you have stated. We didn't start it with Philly, and we aren't the ones who have been dragging them back into it over and over again until more recently b/c several of us are fed up with being attacked. Faulting us for this is very naive.

And I too will agree to disagree with you on the volume LA/OC on this forum. They are the most under-represented major metro on here.

I don't think Boston is bad at all, and I don't get why they get hated on here when they do. Aside from sports rivalries, I have yet to see why anyone would really dislike New Englanders in general. Maybe I've just been lucky and come across mostly cool ones, but more often than not I have come across friendly, level-headed people from that area.

Charleston, Savannah, NYC, LA are the centers of the universe. The first two for having the best climate and southern charm and being paradise from a movie, the second two for just being SOOOOOOOOOO IMPORTANT!

I dunno... I mean, in a few threads right now, LA is getting props, but it's largely from people in SF! Most of the LA-based posters seem to steer clear of this forum, for whatever reason...

...maybe they spend too much time in traffic to post here?

No, it's more like people got sick of Philly posters asking why no one cared about their city and SF got so much recognition. It's one of those situations where people were more than happy to dump on another party, and when that party threw it back, they called "foul."

Thanks.... though again, I'm really more Bostonian than Seattlite. I was born in SEA and spent much of my childhood there, but spent my teens in Boston (as well as part of my childhood), then moved to LA, then to SF, back to SEA, hated it, came back. If anything, I'm more MA/CA than anything else.

Cities don't brag, they aren't people. It is weird the way people on this site personify cities - New York thinks this, Atlanta was saying that, etc, etc.
