I haven't been to all four and neither have the great majority of people who vote so this is meaningless.

That would also make most of these threads meaningless! But for the people who have been to atleast 1 of them, they can share their opinions.

OK!

Then I vote Seattle because I live in Seattle.

To be honest I've been to Portland too and it's public transit system is awesome and downtown really quirky. I like it. But for some reason I like Seattle's more. Can't put my finger on it.

To be honest, I prefer Portland to all the others. Yes, it's smaller - but it is one of the most human-scale, pedestrian friendly downtowns in the country - with lots of great shopping, bars, restaurants, condos. There's cool distinct sub-areas, the streets are narrow, the sidewalks broad, theres good transit options (light rail and streetcar), a great busway and park boulevard. It really is one of the most user-friendly downtowns I've ever been to.

Seattle, Minneapolis, and Denver have broader streets, taller buildings, and are bigger and more diverse, but Portland gets all the details right.

I've been to all except Denver so I'll give it a go

Bus Transit: Seattle
Lightrail Transit: Portland
Things to do (Attractions): Seattle
Restraunts: Seattle (Portland is a close second)
Shopping: Seattle
Architecture: not a whole lot of variation between them honestly
Choose the 2 most Vibrant: Seattle, Portland
Choose the 2 Most Urban: Seattle, Minneapolis
Favorite one overall is: Seattle

Your right, all of these downtowns are great. My answers to your critieria:
Bus Transit: Minneapolis
Lightrail Transit: Portland, easily
Things to do (Attractions): Denver, the Mint, the Rockies and Broncos, 16th Street, Capitol
Restraunts: Denver
Shopping: Tie between Minneapolis, Denver, and Seattle
Architecture: Minneapolis
Choose the 2 most Vibrant: Portland, Denver
Choose the 2 Most Urban: Seattle, Portland or Minneapolis
Favorite one overall is: I like all of them.

Denver needs to work on getting people to move there, they've done a good job so far.

Minneapolis needs to work on getting residents and filling in the surface parking lots.

Seattle I don' think needs anything, maybe more beaches, a nice urban beach maybe???

Portland can expand their shopping district.

King County Metro (Seattle) has as much bus ridership as Denver and Minneapolis' systems combined.
