What city in what people from the coasts consider to be "Flyover Country" is the best. The criteria for determining best should be climate, economy, livability, affordability, and cultural amenities. In order to qualify as "flyover country" let's say it has to be 500 miles from a coast. For the sake of this thread let's also exclude Great Lakes cities, which to me, really shouldn't be considered part of flyover country.

Was going to say Chicago, but I see no Great Lake cities.

1) Denver
2) Minneapolis

Up and coming
Austin

Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland and Milwalkee are always refered to as part of flyover country. Hard to imagine how, or why they would be excluded. In fact Chicago is the ultimate flyover city.

Technically, they are on a coast.

Seems like a good number. 200 is far too short for flyover country. By that measure, Shreveport, LA, Jackson, MS, Carson City, NV, and Spokane, WA are all flyover country.
