hmmm... might want to subdivide your regions, make it a bit more interesting (you have Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, but the West as one broad region?)

New England
Southwest
Great Lakes Region
Great Plains
West Coast
Mountain West etc..

South Florida is part of the southern region of this country. Agree or not, it's there.

Smaller regions I would include are:
Gulf: Houston or New Orleans
Pacific Northwest: Seattle
Mountain West?: Denver
Southwest: Phoenix
Great Lakes: Chicago
Further Mid-West: Omaha

South Florida is part of the region, are you kidding??? Anyway you could say Atlanta most definitely, and Miami as a second because it is so far removed from the central part of the region. Dallas is NOT in the SE........

Chicago is probably not the most representative of the Great Lakes states because it is so much larger and more cosmopolitan than the other cities. I think Milwaukee or Cleveland could be more representative.

Isnt NY part of the Mid Atlantic

The Northeast is made up of New England and the Mid Atlantic ( a broader region)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mid-Atlantic_States

I dunno but i always thought PA/MD/DE/NJ/NY to be the epicenter of the Mid Atlantic States
