I am 100% with you on this You can go till 4am in Koreatown if you're Korean or frequent the joint enough... but otherwise? Hope you had a twelve-pack at home
+1 on the 4am last call as well.
Would be nice to not have to drink soju & beer out of 32oz styrofoam cups in a "undisclosed room upstairs from the bar" when the clock hits 2am. lol
LA-
Pros: Comfortable weather, variety in topography, the many ethnic enclaves and its awesome cuisines, an endless metro where I'm still discovering unique and interesting places that I've never experienced before.
Cons: Growing but still weak mass transit system. Traffic/Congestion can be so bad at times, I opt to stay in just because of it. I do love the temperate climate of southern california, but at times wouldn't mind an occasional thunder/lightning storm or two. The consistant weather pattern can get mundane sometimes.
My favorite thing is the events. While Omaha doesn't have a major league franchise there is something new and different going on all the time. Tons to do for a 900K metro.
My least favorite is how car centric Omaha is. There really isn't much of an option in this city, but to own a car. It can be done, but it is very inconvenient. The bus system is disappointing and that is the only public transit. There is a small, but growing bike culture in Omaha. The problem is that there isn't enough bicycle infrastructure for our numbers right now.
Favorite: How the metro expands into the suburbs, making it real easy for us Virginians and those crazy Marylanders get to work/play
honorable mentions: 1) semi-late (3am) last call. 2) all the diff neigborhoods 3) all the little "town centers" around the metro area
Least Favorite: the lack of a skyline....I understand the height limit, and it makes for a cool "sprawling" downtown, but I wish that there was something to look at over the horizon when driving around....instead of just a phallus.
honorable mentions: 1) the soviet-era looking landscape....metro stations...Crystal City....L'enfant plaza... 2) no food/drink in metro really sucks balls 3) Traffic
i agree on your favorite. the dc metro is probably my favorite in the country.
least favorite: can't think of anything about the city but the long red lights here in nova.
Dislike: Crime, urban decay, too close to DC to (be seen for what it really is: It's own city), too many small minded people, too many "Mr & Ms. Me Too" kind of people, No decent Mall within the city limits, the schools are garbage, the girls are average at best, people here all dress alike, everybody goes to the same places and does the same thing and wonder why they keep running into the same people, ....i can go on, but I'll stop there. I love my city, but it needs to get its sh*t together fast.
BTW im talking about my people..young black people
You can't think of one positive about Baltimore? Sounds like you're still really young, everyone thinks where they grow up is lame, people grow up in NYC and think "there's nothing to do here!" In time you'll realize there's a lot to do in baltimore. Also keep in mind it could be a lot worse. You think there's nothing to do in baltimore? You could be out somewhere in the middle of a cornfield where your nearest neighbor is a mile away.
Favorite Thing: Really dense urban city with so much potential to grow even better in the future
Worst Thing: So many people here have such a negative opinion about their own city/ treat it like crap. People I work with can't believe I love living in the city, consider it a dump, and yet never do anything in the city themselves and simply let old stereotypes from the 80s rule their public opinions of the city. Also people just litter all over the place, it's problem in most places but I think it's worse in Philadelphia than just about anywhere. I think this is a continuation of the fact that a lot of the people who live here just think of this city as a dump. Everything that is done here to try and make the city better is hated by everyone. Even though they think their city is so crappy, they're insanely resistant to change. A new park: wast of money. Bike lanes: awful idea. etc.
People hate on Philadelphia a lot even though they've never been here, but that annoys me a lot less than the people who live here and yet experience the city less than most tourists and maintain such a negative opinions despite constant positive change to the contrary.
Favorites: The great outdoors, Pikes Peak in your backyard. Wonderful climate. Lots of family-oriented attractions including AAA baseball. Safe, big city that seems like a small town.
Worst: Lack of a real "downtown". No skyline. No convenient ski areas within a reasonable drive. Hard to travel west to anywhere from here (one North/South interstate). Lack of public transportation. Usually have to drive to Denver for world class entertainment and food.

Whenever someone I talk to says philly is dumb, or it sucks here, I always ask why, and i can never really get a straight answer from people. If you think philly sucks, good luck finding another city that you will like.
Best thing: The lake and everything that has to do with it. I love a walk at the beach, to go swimming in summer, meditating in winter when you're the only one at the beach and not to mention the polar bear plunge. The breweries are nice as well, so is Alterra coffee, but those are just little extras. Best thing is the lake, and the festivals in summer.
Worst thing: Wind chill in winter. No need to explain that. Crime and segregation is also awful, but personally it does not affect me as much. Drunk people on the streets can be annoying as well.
Favorite Thing: Mild climate and the scenery. Runner-up: The wide streets and big parking lots.
Worst Thing: Too much development. I liked it better about 30 years ago when there was more open spaces and undeveloped land.
