Cleveland over Detroit any day, although Detroit isn't that bad downtown. One should not even have to ask, lol. Not sure about Newark and Gary though. I honestly do not see the appeal to Gary, at all. At least Newark you aren't far from New York.

I would feel comfortable living in Detroit and Cleveland, because those are actual big cities with big city things to do, and at least a few neighborhoods that are great and safe.

There is no reason to visit Newark or Gary. This comparison of Detroit and Cleveland to Newark and Gary has to stop. Its stupid. Yes, there may be swaths of Detroit and Cleveland that are terrible in the way that Newark or Gary are like. . . but you know what? Every city has areas like that.

And you know how to get around that in Detroit and Cleveland.

You guessed it . . .

Don't go to those areas!!

Like I said theres nothing to see in Gary or Newark, there is NO world class anything to see or do, unlike Cleveland and Detroit which have specific attractions that are comparable to specific attractions in Chicago.

Well, Newark's attraction would be its proximity to NYC and the rest of NJ. And it has some decent neighborhoods. I've never heard anything positive about Gary...
