Thank you to everyone who voted in our opening round!!!
Objective
Identify CD's most popular American metropolitan area of 2019 through a knockout-tournament-style voting system.
Methods
Identify the 64 most populous metro areas in the USA
Subjectively assign each metro area to one of four geographic regions (East, South, Midwest, and West)
Seed each metro area within each region from 1 to 16 (based on current population) and create a tournament bracket similar to what the NCAA uses for its annual men's and women's basketball tournaments
Complete a round-by-round vote until a winner is decided!
SOUTH REGION - Round of 32
1) Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, TX MSA (defeated #16 Knoxville 33-13)
vs 9) Austin-Round Rock, TX MSA (defeated #8 San Antonio 30-16)
4) Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell, GA MSA (defeated #13 New Orleans 33-19)
vs 5) Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL MSA (defeated #12 Memphis 27-17)
3) Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach, FL MSA (defeated #14 Birmingham 35-11)
vs 6) Charlotte-Concord-Gastonia, NC-SC MSA (defeated #11 Jacksonville 39-8)
1/9 Tough one, but I have to go with Dallas. Much more established.
4/5 LOVE both places, but the nod goes to Atlanta. Tampa has St-Pete and Clearwater, but its suburbs are far too bland, which is typical of Florida suburbs in general. They all look the same with little to no character. Atlanta is hands-down my favorite city below DC.
6/3 Not a fan of either one, but I vote Miami. I understand that Charlotte is popular here on C-D, but I just don't see it. Miami, while not my cup of tea, has a lot going for it.
2/10 Aside from the Nashville Preds, I just never cared for the place. Houston gets my vote.

I hope it stems from people not voting because they do not know about both metros in tma pair, rather than someone only coming in to vote for their hometown(s) to give it an edge over all the other cities.

Yeah, should be 100% exactly, but hey, it's not that far off, so the results should still be accurate.
