Chicago might not seem as bad now as say a Detroit, but that is a financial time bomb waiting to go off. Detroit is the opener, Chicago is the main attraction coming in the next 20 years.

Let's not conflate the city government's finances with the citiy's economy. Detroit's economy was tied inextricably to the American auto industry that left. Chicago does not have those problems.
