Seattle's also grown 7% since 2010, or 5x the rate of Philly. It's added 232k people vs. just 86k in Philly.

You are aware that Washingtons MSA sprawls all the way out to West Virginia ,right?

You are also aware that Trenton which has an urbanized area of 300,000 and is 12 miles from Philadelphia isnt included in Phillys MSA right?

You are aware that Atlanta's MSA land area is approximately 2x that of Philadelphias , right?

Slowed down from 100k/year to 85k/year, way above the 15k/year in Philly. So very likely DC surpassed Philly this year for MSA population. It's already surpassed Philly for total jobs.

You're aware that Philly's MSA sprawls 20 miles down I-95 into Maryland, at which point you're 15 miles closer to Baltimore than you are to Philly.

You're aware that Center City to Trenton is 33 miles.

You're aware that suggesting your city's importance is based on proximity to Trenton is a problem in its own right.

Should I feel cooler since Philly's population has been higher than D.C's since the first log was laid by the Swedish? If anything Pennsylvania's economy is going to rebound looking farther out than 2020. Currently one of the oldest state's in the country, the population is going to be drastically different in 2035. This has a big effect on the amount of taxes the state needs to collect at the end of the day.

Going back to Seattle vs. Philly. This year, Sea-Tac is on pace to surpass 40 million passengers, 13% more than last year, and 10 million more than PHL, an airport which was busier than Sea-Tac as recently as 2007.

Currently Sea-Tac is on pace to handle 4.5 million international pax, up over 15% annually, which would put its international traffic ahead of Philly's for the first time ever.

DC's GDP is more than 20% higher. But please don't let facts get in the way of your blind homerism.
