Yeah, most people--even a lot of Portlanders--don't go up to St. Johns too often. It's kind of isolated from the rest of town and unless you're driving to Astoria or up the Columbia River most people don't pass by it.

The Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis has always been one of my favorites. Other favorites include the Roebling Bridge in Cincinnati, Brooklyn Bridge in NYC, Tower Bridge in London.

Stone Arch Bridge? LOL.

The St. John's in Portland is very nice. Never heard of it or seen it until here. Boston's Zakim Bridge is also great, and I suspect it didn't poll higher because it is newer and not as famous, but I still say Golden Gate Bridge takes the prize.

I like New York City's bridges because they are old and architecturally beautiful, and they are walked on by a lot of people. San Francisco's Golden Gate is also nice but there is nothing on the otherside to walk to, unlike the Brooklyn Bridge which gets you from one city area to another.

Crescent City Bridge in New Orleans is my favorite. Golden Gate and Brooklyn are cool too.

I've only been on the Golden Gate Bridge once and I will never forget that. Was nearly 20 years ago. I also liked the Bay Bridge.

For those of you who have never been on the Golden Gate Bridge-----you are missing an amazing panaroma.

Being from the midwest, and going onto the Golden Gate Bridge was a shot of exuberance and amazement----a spectacular show.

I do like the bridges in Pittsburgh-----but the spectacle that is the view from the Golden Gate is amazing.

I don't know why more people didn't vote for the Queensboro Bridge! It's my favorite bridge in the country. Followed Closely by others, of course.

And, the new St. Croix River Bridge east of St. Paul will be one of the bigger, more recognizable bridges in the Upper Midwest.
