The most accepted ranks for metros with the largest Jewish populations:

NYC/North NJ
Los Angeles
South Florida
Philly
Chicago
SF Bay
Boston
Baltimore- Washington, D.C.
Atlanta
Cleveland
Detroit
Las Vegas

Houston metro has about 50,000 Jewish residents and I've heard Dallas has over 65,000.

As for Galveston, it is estimated just over 10,000 Jewish immigrants came thru that port of entry compared to millions thru Ellis Island.

If this thread said metros, why is Baltimore and DC combined? The OP specifically said that DC can inflate their number using Baltimore...as they always do.

I think the numbers would still be in order if DC was ranked above Baltimore.

The "Daily Beast" link listed cities by percentage, not sheer numbers. I find that more interesting...

For DC I believe in MSAs not CSAs, I cant come to terms viewing Baltimore as the DC area.

I accidentally forgot LA on the poll and please bear no mention of Philly in my thread. I do not care for that place so I do not wish any info on it. Thanks in advance all.

LA is the second largest Jewish community in the US and Philly 4th. You can't really get around that.

Philly along with NYC/LA/S FLA seem to have the strongest jewish contingent based on my travels. Some others have Jewish contingents but to me they didnt feel as strong as the above mentioned metros.

Well a personal agenda might allow for that, very sly...

Philly and Chicago have similar Jewish populations, but Philly is half the size. So that could be part of it.

LA's white population is heavily Jewish, Armenian, and Persian (some of whom are also Jewish). This differs from NYC and other major cities where a lot of whites are Italian, Irish, or Polish. To me, LA feels the most Jewish based on that.
