What are your favorite and least favorite accents in the USA? If you could change your accent, what would you change it to?

I would have a New Orleans accent if I had to pick. The worst ones are really bland. Most likely the west and mountain west accents.

Now if you are talking about foreign accents its hands down the British accent for me.

Personally I dont like the NYC/ NJ type accent, very grating to the ears

The various Southern accents can be cute and charming, but I remember spending time more than a few days there and it can be a bit dizzying if you dont speak like that, not used to it, and basically every one around you speaks like that

I also dont like some of the really-Northern accents (the type they speak in the Dakotas or rural MN)..and therefore dont like the Canadian accent with the strong vowel "oa"s and raising the end of statements like questions when they're not lol

My favorite accent is Standard General American haha, so thus I wont change my accent

best - Mid-South accent, lower midwest, rural Northeast is pretty neat too

worst - Probably the North Dakota accent. A strong St. Louis accent gets old too.

I'd say I have a mid-south accent and I wouldn't change it.

Assuming you are a male, how can you deny the accent of a beautiful Australian woman?!

I'm not a male, but I still don't find the Australian accent sexy. Even some British accents annoy me- cockney is the most irritating one of all
