And irrlevant how The main stay of culture, media, finance, technology, population, government policy, world poilicy things to do

And more irrelevant how being the most efficent in GDP output, income please explain metro I am ALLL EARS

TX has a good economy but absolutely PALES incomparison to the east or west coast counterparts this is not to be harsh but honestly sit the F down until you are even remotely on the playing field (dude seriously stop reading your own press and actually look at reality, on the west coast the top TX city would be number 3 on the east coast barely number 4; stop posting absurd non realistic crap quite honestly; you lose quite a bit of credibility the numbers are not even close)

Again please explain beyond a BLIND love of texas and how they even REMOTELY compare, as I am very interested to hear ONE SINGLE articulate argument

There is nothing in this context that the East or West coast does not dominate
Philadelphia is nothing more than a huge ghettoed out crackhouse with one nice neighborhood.

Philly is only known because of a city 90 miles up I 95 that throws it a bone from time to time in the media and some bell that one of Philly's Santa Claus booing losers cracked a while back.

Heck, even Boston, which is much smaller in population, is far more relevant than that tard filled city call Philadelphia.

Every time I hear that city mentioned, it is usually followed by a sorrowful shake of the head and sometimes a derisive snicker because of how lame a city it is.

The place sucks so bad that Reids kids are both H addicts to deal with it (really sad situation by the way)

Try travelling outside that craphole sometime and visit America.... your provincialism is showing through

The best location is LA by the way.... best weather, best scenery nearby, the most to do outdoors or indoors

Much better than the "least" coast

The place sucks so bad that the only reason it is even growing is because it has an healthy business climate and plenty of illegal Mexicans.

Have you ever actually been to this so-called "crap-hole?"

I have been traveling most of my life and lived in 4 different cities both on the east and west coast. I have been to your home state to many times to count

I was saying it doesn pale in comparison to some of the top east west metros, but its not equal.

We may not always agree but there is no way Houston is on the level with LA or the Bay nor NYC, DC, or Boston esp when viewed at the CSA level. Houston can compare to Philly

The port of Houston handles a lot of tonnage because what gets shipped there is to put it plain
"very heavy crude oil" bringing oil to those Texas refineries.

If you want to aducate yourself a bit more on regards to global markets connectivity to the US
you should read this report form the US Dept. of Commerce.

.

One misleading thing is they excluded Philadelphia on all but one metric and break the Philadelphia port into multiple different names/areas. Philadelphia includes Philadelphia, Marcus Hook, Paulsboro, Camden, Chester and Wilmington ports all with miles of each other. They were even excluded from the East coast total on the first page. Cummulatively they are nearly the size of the port of NY/NJ. It would be the 5th largest port on containers or tonnage if all calculated together.

No necessarily; in importance. Houston is up there with the best. If not; than we really need to reevaluate what makes a city important.

And on importance explain where it is on the level of a NYC, LA, Bay, DC (or Chicago for that matter though not on either coast; even in the central part of the US Houston would not be the most important city) Unless the criteria is Oil - name one other aspect where Houston would be top or comparable with regards to the others (ok as a port as well but in aggregate please explain)

As I said I can see it being compared to a Philly or DFW not the latter

regardless on this explain how it is a better location sans oil and shipping (BTW both the east and west coast surpass the gulf on shipping overall)
