Amongst the major worldwide liveability rankings from the likes of Mercer Consulting, The Economist, Monocle, and other major consulting firms, etc., where is the best your city has ranked in the last few years?

Toronto ranked the 4th best city in the world in which to live in 2011:

Liveability ranking: Melbourne storm | The Economist

I see a lot of ridiculous boasting around these parts about various cities. Back it up and let's see what the experts at world-renowned consulting firms like Mercer have to say about your cities.

Toronto is ranked 15th in Mercer's 2011 Ranking of Livability.
2011 Quality of Living survey

The past few years have seen Canadian and Australian cities fall in the Mercer ranking as European cities have risen.

But dont feel bad, Id still rather live in Toronto than Wien.

Also, San Francisco is tied with Paris for 30th so I dont feel bad in the least. LOL.

I think it all boils down to the following analogy: Yes, Honda is more economical, but I prefer to drive a Mercedes.

Australian and Canadian cities always take over the ranking for most livable cities. Vancouver is honestly my favorite.
Minneapolis is number 10 in America according to this source
It's official: Pittsburgh is the most liveable city in the U.S. | Marketplace from American Public Media

I never really pay attention to Chicago's because there are such extremes in the city depending on where you live. Our crime rankings probably are accurate for like 10% of the city - since 25% of the city is rancid horrible, 50% is very safe, and 25% is "edgy". Same with other issues like school, transit, etc.

What's that got to do with anything? I said what's the BEST your city has ranked. The BEST Toronto has ranked in any major worldwide study/survey is 4th.

I'll listen to world-respected consulting firms like Mercer before some random guy on the internet though. No offense.

Yes, and Mercer says Toronto is 15th, not 4th.

No offense taken in the absolute least.

I never said that Mercer ranked Toronto 4th though. I said that The Economist did. The Economist is the world's most respected business magazine.

I'm curious to see where Oakland ranks, lol.
