I find that very, very hard to believe, unless the person in question is really that shallow.

Las Vegas is the strip, hoover dam and then desert in terms of attractions. NYC has high end shopping, casinos, landmarks, great parks, beaches, lakes, historic houses, historic areas and geographic diversity.

I think we know who won this battle. This should be something that is comparable to las vegas in terms of population, economy, influence etc. Indianapolis or portland would match las vegas

I WAS BLOW AWAY!!! Las Vegas has so much to do. I thought it was all hotels, casino's, and tourist! But there is so so much more. It seems like it can be a very fun place to live.

Which is a better city for dating and why?

Which is a better place overall to live and why?
New York New York New York New York New York New York. Vegas is a giant theme park. Its great at night, but in a resort-y kinda way.

NYC is the real deal. The nightlife is just as good and its in a real city with people of all kinds.

NEW YORK WINS IN EVERY CATEGORY EXCEPT WEATHER, and only if one enjoys hot, stiffling temperatures in the 100-120 range. Las Vegas gets old fast. There are gambling machines, even in the restrooms, and the boulevard gets full of pimps, right after 9pm. And because of the mountains, one can freeze in October....

In order to see NYC fully, and all it has to offer, one needs two months' time. It is the center of the world. There is no comparison to Las Vegas, which is nice, if only you want is to gamble, and be entertained..........

And New York State has mountains galore, wineries by the Hudson River en mass, one of the largest parks in the world, lots of cheese farms, Niagara Falls, and thousands of lakes, and in October many trees turn red...........no comparison even to Nevada proper.....as far as beauty is concerned......

Vegas' cost of living is drastically lower than NYC's. Just thought I'd reiterate that...

If you say so.

It's hilarious that you easterners obsessively try to dictate to the rest of the world what "real cities" are. What is a "real city" anyway?

As a previous poster mentioned, Las Vegas is a theme park. It's basically the adult version of Orlando. There is a place for it since the demand is there.
