Best lake (singular) in a city ehh who knows...best lakes (plural) in a city/metro then Orlando and Minneapolis are hard to beat. Pick your poison really with water temp and varied recreational options.
I think Orlando does well, but Minneapolis, which is the city of lakes, should win this. It has over 20 lakes/wetlands in the city boundaries, and two waterfalls (that doesnt have to do with lakes, ik.) But the lakes are surrounded by parks, and downtown is visible from all of them, although in my opinion the Lake Calhoun view of Minneapolis isnt the greatest.
