Even around Uptown Minneapolis has a large amount of east coast transplants, I'm pretty sure about 40 percent of the uptown and lyn-lake areas citizens are from the east coast, everyone i met that lives around there is from either the North east or California, just driving around I see more VA NJ NY MA plates than WI plates

Like when the NY Knicks play the Lakers at the Staples Center, there are barely any Knicks fans in attendance, compared to when the Knicks play the Miami Heat. It seems like the CA natives counterbalance the NY transplants to the point that you don't even notice there existence. It seems as if most NY'ers who move to Cali become instant Californians and don't carry the previous cultural traits or loyalty to the east-coast that they do when they move to Florida. In other words it seems like Florida=New York transplants who still have a strong connection and allegiance to NY, Cali=NY transplants who completely conform to the CA lifestyle and leave NY completely behind.
Yea have seen how many Lakers fans are at the msg when they go there? I know not all of them are cali transplants but they do have a big fanbase out there.

Yeah, MSG seems to have a grand following of Lakers fans when they go to NY. And to take it a step further, it seems there are native New Yorker actors who move to LA and endorse an LA team. Like Billy Crystal being a Clippers fan, or Denzel being a Lakers fan. But in general, from the outside looking in it looks like(correct me if I'm wrong about CA): Florida=New York transplants who still have a strong connection and allegiance to NY. Cali=NY transplants who completely conform to the CA lifestyle and leave NY completely behind.

I guess people from the East Coast who are willing to move all the way out to the West Coast (and vice versa) are the type of people who want a clean break.

LOL at you people bragging about "all these out of state license plates" in your states / towns. This has been going on in ATL for years ... and years ... and years. Half the kids in my high school were from out-of-state because we lived near the airport and had lots and lots of airline employee transfers -- and that was 25 years aso! A lot of my friends' parents still have strong NY/NJ/MA accents to this day. But none of them have left and now are second-and-third generation SOUTHERN. But many still identify with where they came from.

I VOTED FOR MIAMI BTW ...

Ha, just as many people moved to Staten Island as Puerto Rico.

So I guess percentage wise, at least for Manhattan residents, Washington DC has more. Raw numbers its LA.

Miami is full of transplanted New Yorkers and if you go to a Dolphins-Jets game half the crowd roots for the Jets! In the earlier part of the 20th. century the New York Times wrote an article declaring Miami the city's "sixth" borough!

Is 10,11,12 correct? Cook is ranked higher than SF, but has a lower #.
