NYC transplants have flooded the south in the last 15 years. Many of them have came to escape the cold and high COL.

These cities are known to have a lot of NYC transplants. Which do you believe has the most?

-DC
-Atlanta
-Orlando
-Miami
-Ft Lauderdale
-Tampa

No Raleigh/Triangle makes this poll an automatic fail. Even the town of Cary is locally known as "Containmanet Area for Relocated Yankees"

Deep South over DC, maybe Miami or Atlanta.

DC and all cities have their share but these two would seem higher than others; maybe someone has actual stats

Miami overall as the amount of transplant plus vacationer/second home owners would put it over the top on feel IMHO

More residents of New York State moved to Florida than to any other state. Not sure if the City matches or differs from the statewide pattern, nor where in Florida those NYers ended up (but I'm picturing a lot of places like "Del Boca Vista").

Historically,as a State, FL would be the answer no question. But NC, with the combination of "half-backs", pluis new transplants from NYC and the NE in general deserves to be on the list. It is one of the fastest growing states in the US because of this.

NC is becoming the new Florida. Retirees and like Macjr said, halfbacks. I think almost everyhwere in the US has high number of NY transplants. From what I've heard, especially CA. But the thing with CA is, there seems to be just as many natives as there are transplants from what I see on TV and here from people. Like when the NY Knicks play the Lakers at the Staples Center, there are barely any Knicks fans in attendance, compared to when the Knicks play the Miami Heat. It seems like the CA natives counterbalance the NY transplants to the point that you don't even notice there existence. It seems as if most NY'ers who move to Cali become instant Californians and don't carry the previous cultural traits or loyalty to the east-coast that they do when they move to Florida. In other words it seems like Florida=New York transplants who still have a strong connection and allegiance to NY, Cali=NY transplants who completely conform to the CA lifestyle and leave NY completely behind.

Raleigh/Durham

Back in 06/07 there were so many NY/NJ license plates in Raleigh that i think they outnumbered the NC liscence plates. There are still alot now.
