18Montclair is one of the most trustworthy and non-delusional people on city-data, if only for the fact that he actually posts statistics and sources them, in 90% of his posts. He leaves the speculation and ignorant BS to a minimum. Those are things which cannot be said for the vast majority of city-data posters, including most of 18Montclair's "enemies" (many of whom are ultra egotistical and delusional northeast boosters who dislike facts that make other regions look better than their own in some way... surprise, surprise).

ROFL stop kissing his ass? How is he NOT delusional? Look at those 2008 stats. Look at them, and skim them. Notice how Philadelphia is constantly rated below its standards in mostly all of the lists. He obviously has something against Philly. He's no where near trustworthy with those trashy ass stats. Philly wipes the floor with most of the cities rated above it. LOL Did you see his final ranking of cities? That boy need some common sense. SMH.. #Getyash*tstraight

Why? This is really that important to you?

Yawn
Don't forget that tough-guy posturing is the MOST important aspect of all for your average northeast booster on city-data. With it often comes pop-culture references and youtube videos, preferably of tough guy stuff (rap videos and fights, ZOMG how cool!11!!!1!), and TV shows (The Wire, Jersey Shore, the Sopranos, and South Park for making fun of other cities), and rehashes of old tired stereotypes. You know what i mean: the tough, no-nonsense, "real", northeasterners in their "real" cities vs. the sissy, fake, smug, westerners in their fake cities. Dumb crap like that (and as always, the Philly boosters are leading the charge )

In fact, being a tough guy is apparently SO important, that Sharp Point would punch someone for telling them a simple objective truth! That truth being that the SF area leads the nation in technology, and has a higher GDP than Philly. Sharp Point: you clearly have some anger issues.

I was being sarcastic dude. But be serious, who the hell would say
"I'm going to San Francisco!"
"Why whats good their?"
" Well the GDP is high, and it leads in technology."
" So? "

or...

"I'm going to Philadelphia!"
"Why, what's good in Philly?"
" Trying to tour the historic areas Philly has to offer, and then I'm gunna' hit up some other Philly spots."
" Alright man I'm packing my bags. "
^ Same could go for San Francisco.

Obviously if someone ever told you that RAH, it's either you hang around boring people or people who just don't care about anything but money and work.

Also Rah, I hope you hate Philadelphia to the fullest after your experience on this site. I hope someone offers you a 300k job in Philly and you deny it because it's Philadelphia. I hope your friends say "Yo I'm heading to Philly, you tryna come?" and you deny that offer. Your type wouldn't be able to handle Philly.

You hate Philly and Philly hates you to.

Actual city v. city... Philadelphia has a higher GDP than San Fran. If you compare the metros, The Bay Area has a higher GDP than The Delaware Valley. However you have San Jose/Silicon Valley on your side... Philadelphia is all by itself. It has the suburbs that's about it. Than Wilmington Delaware is the next successful city. With cities like Camden and Chester in our metro we still stack up pretty favorably against San Fran

Let's look at some "facts"... I am only comparing Philadelphia and San Fran here

Nightlife-
Slight edge to San Fran, Philly is no slouch though

Historic Sights-
Philly clobbers San Fran

Cultural Amenities-
Pretty neck and neck in my opinion

Food (Good Eats)
Slight edge to San Fran... but once again Philly is no slouch and is quickly gaining on San Fran

Estimated Buildings over 115 feet (high rises)
Philadelphia -568
San Fran- 1,145

Tallest Buildings-

Philadelphia - Comcast Center- 975 feet
San Francisco- Transamerica Pyramid- 853 feet

If you look at the actual FACTS you realize how neck and neck these cities are. They're pretty damn close and both great American cities.

If it was city vs. city I would give the edge to Philadelphia
If it was metro vs. metro I would give the edge to the Bay Area

Now quit your bickering and look at these beautiful skyline shots of both Philadelphia and San Francisco

I think Boston, in terms of culture, influence, and education. DC could also be included.
