Would this lower the col in NJ? If so, I'd be down.
PA's COL would probably rise though.

CA has the landscape and diverse climate, hard to beat. But NYNJPA have more job opportunities and everything is far more accesible. The overall COL in much of PA and West/Central NY is much lower than the vast majority of CA too. You might as well of thrown CT in the mix, if you wanted the NYC metro area to be united.

CA is stunningly beautiful, and I love the bay area, but that's because SF is relatable to northeastern cities in a way. It's not like I'd be living in these places and explore every corner of the state. I don't have time for that, but when I do- Idgaf, throw me in Yosemeti or throw me in The Adirondacks, both places are great places to get away from it all.

No worries, NJ isn't clamoring to join your ranks either.

When you are the biggest, you will have lots of haters and supporters:
Harris Interactive: Harris Polls > 3 Sunny States Remain Top Choices for Where Americans Would Like to Live

Besides, being hated by outsiders is meaningless---who cares? Only insecure people with low esteem peg their self worth to what others think.

Does it really matter? It sort of comes with the territory when a state is as influential as california.
