I'm am surprised Texas and Cali is lower than average. I don't believe this map there is no way Puerto Rico is worse than Mexico.

Mexico's official numbers are questionable due to kidnappings/undiscovered bodies, but Puerto Rico's rate has been extremely bad for a while now.

CA isn't lower than average...It's slightly worse than average.

Not surprised at all about D.C. I've heard of stories of people who lived there in the early 1990s and even today. The bad areas in D.C. are really scary and sketchy.

Wow at the U.S. virgin islands rate...

Interesting how northern areas - even densely populated ones - are less violent than their southern counterparts. Murder is too inconvenient in the cold lol. I suppose Michigan is the exception.

This is actually good for DC. its not a state so its numbers misleading. It will always appear high compared to other states.

DC shouldn't be on this map. I know why it's included and all and I understand it but it's an apples to oranges comparison here. Comparing a city to entire states.
