Any US city that has a decent heavy rail, commuter rail and/or light rail system.

Texas wouldn't be in ideal climate for the Olympics. Athens damn near killed people!

Places like Sydney work because it took place in their winter. Athens was a mess for athletes, way too hot. Milder climates are better which is why Seattle or San Francisco have a good shot. If Houston or Dallas poured lots of money into it for top notch facilities then it could make a strong case. Definitely need in indoor Olympic Stadium there.

I think it should be in St Louis, Detroit, or Chicago. There is a great need for revitalization in these cities, and The Olympics could mean opportunity.

Again, you don't have to host the Summer Olympics in June, July, or August. You can host it in September. A couple even started in October I believe. I have no problem with an indoor Olympic Stadium. I imagine most would though. It rarely if ever gets to 107 in a normal summer in Houston. Dallas seems it from time to time.

Why wouldn't Texas be ideal, Atlanta had it in 96 and Georgia is more humid than Texas in the summer.

Los Angeles, St. Louis and Atlanta have already hosted the summer games. I could see Dallas, New York or Chicago being strong contenders. Of course, who wants to deal with the incredible pain and debt that would go along with this?

I don't think New York has much desire to host an olympic games. Doesn't need to! Still one of the top 3 cities in the world without it. The olympics would just cause even more congestion. Chicago has many areas right now that it needs to focus on before the Olympics. Dallas could do it, but i'm not sure if it could come up with an attractive enough bid.

I agree. For NY it's like winning miss universe and miss congeniality too. The extra prize is nice, but hey, she's already top of the heap.

Georgia might be but Atlanta is less humid than the Texas cities. Come on, you are not going to seriously tell me that Houston, San Antonio and Austin are less humid and hot than Atlanta .
