Fort Wayne vs Springfield, MA (better, compared, population, people)

I don't believe these two cities have ever been compared to each other before

Rate them based on these categories or anything else:

Downtown:

Neighborhoods outside of Downtown:

Entertainment:

Economy:

Suburbs:

Education:

Climate:

Suburbs:

Architecture:

Being in the Northeast would be far better than smallish town Indiana.

Springfield in all categories except maybe suburbs and even that's debatable.

That means very little. Over the last 30 years Fort Wayne has annexed it's way to a notable population size. It's artificially large on paper. It covers almost 3.5 times the amount of land area Springfield does(33 sq mi to Fort Waynes 110). Whereas it's urbanized area is one half to a third the size of cities that it is purportedly larger than. This case is little different. Springfield has an urban area that has as many people as Fort Wayne's CSA. Given it's proximity to Boston and Hartford I think this fight is unfairly in favor of Springfield.

Fort Wayne is more comparable to Lansing, Lexington, and Springfield MO over this one.

Ah, I agree with you, I think I picked out two cities with too many population differences to be comparable. Sorry, I'll come up with a better thread sometime later.

There's nothing wrong with comparing any two cities This is a fine comparison, I just wanted to keep it in perspective.
