1. Seattle
2. Portland
3. Boston
4. Atlanta
5. Phoenix
6. Dallas
7. New York
8. New Orleans
9. Houston
10. Salt Lake City

I find that the most popular cities are rarely the best ones in which to actually live. It's easy to spend a weekend in a place like Portland and think, hey, this is a great place. But, after living for a year in Oregon, there's no way I'd ever want to live in Portland.

This comment says it all right here:

lol @ the cities with high minority populations being the most hated

LA - nearly 50% are Hispanic
Detroit, Chicago, New Orleans - very high populations of blacks
San Francisco - higher % of LGBT people

This survey says more about the people polled than it does about the cities.

To further substantiate how bogus this list is click on this link, Seattle is ranked 6th in the US as one of the most depressed cities to live in:

LA being so low is just hilarious. Aside from NY, LA is easily the most desired and dreamed-of city in the US. I would never expect LA to rank high in a list like this because like NY and all other megacities, it is polarizing and there always tons of people who hate it. But it's certainly not one of the the least favorite among Americans.

You think? Maybe in 1975. I think that after the gangs, riots, fires, mudslides, earthquakes, illegal immigration, murders, etc., that most of the country has a negative view of LA.
