I like midwestern weather, minus lake effect clouds.

Coastal Southern California IMO has the most perfect and most comfortable weather. Honestly though, it gets a bit monotonous for me.

I really do love a distinct 4 season climate. I actually like NY weather. There's usually about 2 weeks of winter and 3 weeks of summer that are uncomfortable for me, but otherwise I like the weather here.

I honestly don't care that much about weather though, unless it's very extreme (think the extreme heat/humidity of India/SE Asia or the constant cold of Alaska or Siberia). For example, Minneapolis and Montreal can be brutally cold in the winter, but I honestly wouldn't mind it because cold temperatures in these places don't cause everyone to stay at home all day. Unless its unusually extra harsh, people are still out and about and embrace the winters with all sorts of winter activities.

1. Los Angeles (coastal)

This is why Sacramento gets a bad rap. When in fact, Sacramento summers are as good or better than most of the USA, but you would never know it because we are compared to Coastal California.

Sacramento is not as dry as the southwest, with half or 3/4 the humidity of the south, east, and midwest. We can thank the California coast for our cool summer nights.

I lived in LA for twenty years, Detroit for 14 years, and Phoenix for 7......... I despised the cold and humidity..... So all are out except LA, San Fran and Phoenix. Seattle rains so much, why would it even be on the list? Don't they have the greatest amount of clinically depressed people there? People talk about Phoenix, and the summers suck because it doesn't cool off enough at night, but the humidity in Tampa, is horrible, and if Boston (only city I never been to in the summer. Haven't been to SF, but Oakland is the same place far as weather, so I count that) is anything like NY in the summer......ugh!!

Far as Phoenix...doesn't bother me unless it is over 105. I am good from late Sept to mid May. June, July, and August are not very nice, but where is any place outside of the beaches on the coast?! If Phoenix cooled off at night in the summer, my property value would be double!!

I actually like my hometown of Seattle, but would not rate its climate anywhere near the top. I like Los Angeles, but don't care for the endless sunshine without much variety. My in-between is San Francisco, offering lots of sunshine, but also some rainstorms and fog for variety. Unlike LA and Seattle, it does offer some variety.

I prefer Los Angeles because the climate is ideal almost year-round.

San Francisco is nice and benefits from California's ideal climate, but too often it gets foggy, damp and cold. Chicago is very nice during autumn but gets humid during summer and too cold during winter (I imagine Boston would be like that too). Seattle is nice but rains too often too many days of the year. Phoenix just gets way too hot during summer (but at least it's a dry heat).

Parts of the Bay Area that aren't immediately adjacent to the Pacific Coast have the "best" (most moderate) weather with fairly minimal fog and cloud cover.
