Which of these five neighborhoods would you choose to live in if money was no object? Consider the neighborhood/district in isolation, pretend you could pretty much place it in any city you wanted. I.e. this is NOT a comparison between NY, Philly, Boston, SF and LA, just the specific nabes.

Consider whatever is most important to YOU. Of course some of the usual considerations would include architecture, aesthetics, view, safety, education, amenities, shopping, entertainment, nightlife, people.etc.

None of them... I'm not interested in living in a status symbol neighborhood. And not all wealthy neighborhoods are status symbols... a lot of them are actual neighborhoods where the people actually know each other as opposed to everyone being introverted and hoping that the neighborhood will give them the character they never had as opposed to them giving the neighborhood character.

Agreed. If these are the only choices there needs to be a "none of the above" option as well.

I might prefer Sea Cliff over Pac Heights. A lot more going on by Pac Heights though. My parents live in St. Francis Wood now but I would prefer where I grew up in Forest Hill out of all 4 of these SF 'well-to-do' neighborhoods. The latter 2 being less known western hoods. Forest Hill is just about as close to a suburb as you can get that is inside of a city like SF. Pop Density = 8,663/sq mi (one of the lowest in SF). I really enjoyed the space and privacy which is very rare here. The space between houses is quite rare and there are even backyards!

Main entrance in to Forest Hill:
