Yeah, not to knock all of his accomplishments and how much he's done, but the idea that Mark Zuckerberg for example is the 9th most powerful person in the world is a little... uh...

I like the wealthiest list better. At least that's a more measurable statistic.

That's interesting. So how would you guys characterize the most powerful people? How do they end up being so powerful without being noticed?

I guess you don't have to be alive to be on the list. Kim Jong-Il is dead. Lol, he's so powerful even dead. When was this list published?

The DC folks generally don't really live in DC. They're part-time residents.

I would assume elected representatives keep their original addresses. Otherwise, they wouldn't even qualify for reelection.

I thought this as well but the problem is that they only show up on these lists so long as they hold that position of power. When they are replaced they go back to being ordinary people living in whichever town they came from. Living in DC is what's made them powerful, literally.

I assume they live in DC while they hold their position of power, or at least that they have a second home in DC which they spend more time in, since they work in DC. Once they're retired or have lost their positions they can move back to where they came from but they wont be one of the worlds most powerful people.

If Barack Obama moves back to Chicago after his presidency is over, he is no longer the worlds most powerful man because he is no longer president. He's just an ordinary resident, maybe a little above just ordinary.
