These are two of the denser bar districts in the country. However, based on the impression of those who have visited both, which has the greater concentration of bars? (immediately adjacent side streets count as well)
When you get this specific, I suppose you could count them.
You're probably right, but I guess I'm talking more about subjective feel of the area, in terms of concentration of bars and busy-ness of the nightlife overall.
Using Yelp it shows the following # of establishments for the category of "Nightlife"
Might as well just compare both their total districts to one another. I mean realistically, one street corridors with nightlife flow from one to the next, one street comparisons are miniature. Gaslamp to Downtown.
I hate 6th, overrun by tourists and idiot frat kids. I liked Red River, 5th, and Congress much more.

Well I was trying to but I don't know if the "Sixth Street District" on Yelp includes side streets, if not then it's not really a fair comparison as the Gaslamp is about 19 or so square blocks total that includes other side streets.
When I zoomed out the numbers seemed more comparable for Austin.
