Like my last thread about MSP vs Phoenix, I don't think these two cities have been compared before. The Twin cities has been a pretty dynamic region for a long time while Indy is a fast rising, up and coming city. I'll use the same catagories.

-Arts
-Scenery
-Transit
-Economy, Corporate Base
-Sports( culture, venues)
-Climate
-Downtown, Inner Neighborhoods
-Metro area as a whole

Overall what are your opnions on either city? What are your likes and dislikes about either place and which city do you prefer?

Probably not been compared before because the Twin Cities will invariably come out on top. Although it's not a very fair fight--a better comparison that isn't done very often might be Milwaukee and Indianapolis.

-Arts Minneapolis - higher tier orchestra, national-class theater
-Scenery Minneapolis - lakes in city limits, Mississippi River, more trees
-Transit Minneapolis - light rail, commuter rail
-Economy, Corporate Base Minneapolis - more Fortune 500 companies, more diversified
-Sports( culture, venues) Tossup - Mpls has more pro sports teams but Indy more sports-centric
-Climate Indy - milder winters
-Downtown, Inner Neighborhoods Minneapolis - more options downtown; more "leafy" residential neighborhoods
-Metro area as a whole Minneapolis - seems like a lot more variety in living options, entertainment, etc. around the Twin Cities whereas in Indy it is concentrated heavily in few areas

Overall what are your opnions on either city? What are your likes and dislikes about either place and which city do you prefer?
The only relative negatives with Mpls compared to Indy are the weather, higher taxes, traffic in a few areas (SW metro mainly) and further distance from other big cities. Everything else listed above comes out in favor of Mpls IMO.

I'd say that's a fair assessment (was focusing more on your reasons why MSP was lesser than Indy, as opposed to the other way around).

well, what I do know is...it don't rain in Indianapolis in the summertime...and it don't snow in Minneapolis when the winter comes and there's no such thing as make believe puppy dogs, autumn leaves and BB guns.
