Downtown Hartford is a 5

Hartford is one of those cities that fell prey to the hideous urban renewal mistakes of the 60's and 70's by removing many of the historic buildings and put in place a financial district. Though it has a nice looking financial district for a medium sized city and the state house along will Bushnell Park is gorgeous and there has been some investment and improvement with the new convention center, overall it's not all that vibrant, pretty dull, and a little creepy after 6:00 PM. Most people would rather go to the upscale suburb of West Hartford up the road, it's a night and day difference.

7.5/10 nice city for its size, good looking skyline, and nice parks and scenic trails, as well as nice pedestrian safe areas with shopping and all sorts of things to do

Next: San Diego
