FYI
People in Dallas do not consider themselves in the Southeast.

Well which is it? Southeast or South? TX and OK arent in the southeast... however tie between Miami and Houston, Miami has more Latinos and Houston has more Asians... Houston has a large number of Latinos from various backgrounds but Miami's Asian population is still very small

Houston is the only city in Texas that has a Southeastern US tie to it.
The eastern portion of Texas is definitely a Southeastern culture, especially when compared to the rest of the state.

With that said, Miami and Houston would be at the top of the list.

I never thought so, having been to Houston many times and as recent as a month ago I dont buy it. The southeast outside of Florida is very oreo, only white and black folks and I am white so by no means am starting anything, Houston is nothing like oreo Birmingham, Charlotte, or even Atlanta whose combined Latino and Asian population is less than 1 million versus Houston's near 3 million which is about half its metro.

Look above Atlanta and you see white and black, look above Houston of DFW you see more than just white and black that plagues the southeast All sizes | Contiguous United States, Census 2010 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Also look at this for Houston compared to the Southeast http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ce...y-1396x955.png

I agree with what you're saying, but I was saying that Houston would be the most Southeastern place in Texas. You still have a mix of that culture with the rest of Houston. It really is one big melting pot.

This I can agree with, to me Houston felt nothing culturally or demographically like Atlanta which is a good thing for me but topography and climate is connected to gulf coast Louisiana IMO. FWIW DFW closely follows Houston and Miami and no clear 4th place winner IMO

Houston is no doubt a southeastern city.
