Since I am living here now and have lived in 3 others will choose Philly but could be very happy any of these I believe
Kidphilly, what is your opinion of Houston and Dallas? Please be honest and if you don't want to express your opinion for all others to see feel free to DM me on it.
I prefer Houston to Dallas (by a smidge a tad bit edgier in some ways to me); both actually have some decent areas and are absolutely job and growth monsters. My biggest issue (well maybe two) is the heat in the summer (Houston especially with the humidity) and lack of truly cohesive urban environments. So for me to live these would present challenges in my preference. That said both have more than their fair share of cool areas, pretty urban in some ways as well, just lacking continuity. They are getting better but still significantly lacking on the continuity and concentrated urban feel to many others on this particular aspect but do very well on almost all criteria to be honest.

Thanks for the response. I tried to rep you for responding but the site says I have to spread it. I agree on your opinion of the two.
Pros: Low col and excellent jobs
Cons: Lacks Urbanity and Hot/Humid Weather
Location: Baghdad by the Bay (San Francisco, California)

My feelings too. Dallas does a bit better in cohesive urban environments, but not much better. Houston's are a bit more organic, but rougher around the edges, small and spread out. Neither city can be very well enjoyed at street level, on foot. Both are balls hot and humid for a great deal of the year, too.
Having lived in both, I think Houston edges out Dallas as a place to live among these two, but probably wouldn't crack my top-10 if I were looking to move today, all things being equal.
My top places right now (it changes occasionally after 1 and 2) in order:
1. San Francisco
2. New York
3. Los Angeles
4. Boston
5. Chicago
6. San Diego
People are free to choose where ever they want. Sort of a perk to living in democracy really.
