That doesn't change the facts at all, it just shows your ignorance of the place. I've been up three times to visit family, it's definitely NOT Canadian. It's a state regardless of whatever your opinion and interpretation of it is, and it also has the most superlative mountain topography in the US. Oh and the aerial distance between Ketchikan, AK and Bellingham, WA is about 600 miles, meaning it's not 2,000 miles away from the contiguous 48 states.

Interesting thread. While I've only skimmed through a few pages here, I DO appreciate the opinions of the people regarding what constitutes BEST here.

Regarding MOST, for sure Colorado takes it though. I haven't checked other states amounts.

Mountains 14,000 ft. plus-- 53
Mountains 13,000 ft. to 13,999 ft.-- 759
Mountains 12,000ft. to 12,999ft.- 961

Colorado has the most accessible high country of any state by far. But there's no doubt that Alaska trumps CO in topography. Sure CO has 53 14,000 foot mountains, but Alaska's mountains reach higher, are more prominent and are less accessible which IMO gives them an allure that is unmatched anywhere in the lower 48.

Your ignorant for comparing it to the lower 48, it isnt anywere near the lower 48, its in timbuk 2 and is part of canadas region the US just happens to own it but that does not make it part of the US geography. Oh and its not in the US, genius.

Yeah, Canadas ranges are remarkable. Colorado has elevation, not much stature though. Accessible is not a good thing, wild and untouched like washington mountains is much more appealing, right?

Looks like you're running out of steam and since you can only troll post at this point here's some education and facts; Alaska was admitted to the union as a state (by definition very much connected to US geography) in 1959, here you go - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alaska By the way it's Timbuktu (not timbuk 2), and that's in Africa. Canada is a country with 10 provinces and three territories, and Alaska is not included.

I think the definition that seems to be so lost on you is that Alaska is not a part of the contiguous US but that doesn't take away any relevance in the debate of the thread title 'Which State has the best mountains?', as again Alaska is still very much a part of the US geography. Perhaps you might need to relearn the definition of geography and ignorance (and better grammar just for good measure). Ignorant for comparing to the lower 48? There are several reasons why Alaska has 8 national parks.

Well see, I've been there three times and have close family that live in Anchorage and has for 30 years. It's definitely American. If there is any doubt left, perhaps you should go to the Alaska thread and ask an everyday Alaskan how they feel about joining the Canadian Confederation because it looks like a better fitting puzzle piece. Good day.

Looks like we both don't know for sure. But obviously those votes can be for the the other 20+ states not listed that have mountains.
