why would Houston get any praise outside of Houston homers? It has the worst PT of the big 4 in the south, a dead downtown even by Southern standards, has the most brutal summers of the 4, density is nothing to write home about, only thing I would see someone praising it is its GDP and the city being "the most diverse city in the nation" by rice university.

For the record, I like Houston very much. Its arts and culinary scene are some of the best in the US and its incredibly diverse.
But the list I made was not based on my own personal preference. It was based on the amount of love/hate I see those cities getting on CD.
Houston is a great city. It's not NYC, or Portland or Seattle. It offers plenty of amenities and can be a great place to live. Houston is at the top of the list of places I would like to live.

It's not Portland??? I realize Houston doesn't have the cult status nor is as pretty as Portland, but Houston offers so much more and is a much higher caliber city than Portland.
Not really. I think many Houston posters stay in their forum these days. Many people like to compliment Houston on it's Economy, Family Friendliness, Skyline, Diversity, etc.
