Both states have great beaches!
However, they have a different vibe about them....a different energy if u will...

In my Opinion, it would be Southern California.

I pick Florida because I am into the Caribbean or tropical feel and look, and in a way the vibe. Southern Florida especially has that. I was never into the whole surfing culture. I do want to learn to surf but sometimes I'd rather lay under the hot sun on white sand beside turquoise water…

I like any beach, but I love the California vibe. The perfect weather, the beach sports. Fire rings at night. The awe and majesty of the Pacific is magic. It seems like the beach culture is California is far less party and more healthy lifestyle. I loathe the beach party scene.

Beach culture in the two states are a reflection of their states culture. In California its an area you spend time with family or play sports, more peaceful and laid back, surf, or just stare at the sunset sitting on a bench at the pier, etc.

In Florida its like a big beach frat party, lots of drunks and wild behavior, IE broads gone wild area.

California. I like the tropical feel and culture of Florida, but everyone seems to just party there and get drunk. Not my thing. I like the laid back vibe of the coastal neighborhoods in Caifornia, and the scenery here is better than Florida's highrises.

California outdoor culture

Not all of it is the beach or the coast but our outdoor culture is consistent no matter the geography, IE mountains, prairies, forests, beaches, coasts, etc. California is quieter than Florida IMO all around

Yeah I don't care for the Florida party scene . Florida still is the big spring break scene, a little to "jersey shore" in parts. But to be fair Florida does have lots of quieter beaches too
