Any of these regions would do perfectly fine on their own. I don't think it would be that difficult for them to become independent countries.

Most people are going to say California and the Northeast though...

Regions aside, two states that would do well are California and Texas. They're both exporting states.

How do you classify "Old America" as the NE states. Much of the South was in the original 13 States. That is "Old America."

Would California really do well? It has a huge economy but it also has huge debt problems.
