I believe only great cities inspire tributes like songs, movies, plays, poems, even TV shows.

Here is a chance for people to boast about a city they love in the arts and media.

For example:

A quick internet search reveals that no fewer than 27 songs about Miami are listed, and that didn't even include the Better Midler song "Only In Miami" nor the catchy tune The Golden Girls sing in one episode that goes "Miami, Miami, you've got style ..." For my Grandparent's generation the song "Moon Over Miami" was a big hit.

Even more impressive is the fact that no fewer than three dozen television shows are set in Miami including the aforementioned The Golden Girls, but also shows over the years like Surfside Six, Empty Nest, Miami Vice, CSI: Miami, etc.

Pretty impressive considering this town is not even in the top twenty-five population wise in the US is not even a state capitol and is hardly a hundred years old! I read somewhere that when it comes to films and TV, Miami is the third most used location after New York City and Los Angeles. If true, Miami beats out much larger cities like Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, and Boston.

Tell us about your city or a city in North America you love!

Many raps songs talk about ATL and the nightlife here. ATL was the name of a movie that T.I. was in. The walking dead is a series based in Atlanta, but I don't know if it's about Atlanta. We have also the famous 'Desperate housewives of ATL'. Love and H/Hip Hop ATL. I'm sure there's a lot more out there.

I cannot believe that neither of you mentioned arguably the most famous and celebrated movie in all American cinema history: GONE WITH THE WIND.

How about another well known movie set in Atlanta: Driving Miss Daisy???
