I think they're pretty similar but the Jewish population in South Florida is proportionally far higher - about 10% of the population (compared to maybe 4% in L.A.) Similar proportion to the New York area.

ETA: And like in New York, L.A. and Toronto, South Florida has a significant foreign born Jewish population.

I'd say...NYC, LA, Bay Area, DC, Chicago, Houston, and Boston. Boston is underrated when it comes to diversity, mainly because it has an insanely large and diverse student population that isn't represented in most statistics. Dallas and Miami would easily be 8th and 9th on this list though. Atlanta or possibly even Sacramento would round out the top 10.

I wonder why Orlando never comes up in discussions like this. Orlando is a very diverse city.

Because it's not as diverse as the top 7 cities, whatever they may be.

7 is such an arbitrary cutoff. Is this thread top 7 because top 10 had already been done?

Is this using the crude "white/black/Hispanic/Asian" model where Asian nationalities as diverse as Indians, Koreans and Filipinos are lumped together, doesn't distinguish between African and Caribbean immigrants and African Americans, etc.?

Okay. I can see that.
I do have a hard time believing anyone that tells me that So. Florida has a higher Jewish population than the LA area though. Lol... I mean, just wander around Beverly Hills and see all the Stars of David around. Hollywood is pretty much Jewish run. I CAN hear that the Jewish population is high though, but my guess would be NYC 1st, LA 2nd, then maybe So. Florida (or Chicago or Philly).

I could be wrong though. Only raw numbers would show the truth.

L.A. and South Florida both have Jewish populations of about 600,000. It's just that L.A. is far bigger so they make up a smaller percentage there than in South Florida.
