Need help deciding. Only been to Houston for a day and as some of you well know the city center is the business district so it's hard to get a feel for the place after one day.
22 years old in the trucking businesses. Looking for a place with genuinely friendly, down to earth people who are health conscious and enjoy hiking, swimming, river rafting, and being outside in general. Also love the accents on some of the southern ladies I get to speak with each day. I also love to fish and would like to begin hunting my own food. I'd also like a Trader Joes around and preferably a few farmers market.
Feel free to,suggest other cities just take note I am leaving partially because of the cold, long gloomy winters. I prefer temps above 70 but anything over 45 is fine.
I thought Austin would be my type of place but I felt too much pretentiousness from relocated residents. I especially detested the vibe I got downtown at the original whole foods with nothingmbut expressionless faces as if some tragedy had ocurred. I much preferred New Orleans although Texas hill country was beautiful although outside Austin limits.
Plan is to relocate by late September, early October; help me find my ideal destination!
Trust me Houston wouldn't care if you where New Zealand as long as your not bothering people there.
The others cities go by the ''CAN TELL'' attitude if your are not from there city!
I would go with Houston the Fourth Largest City in the Country plus you have the beaches nearby
Atlanta is a huge logistics hub, so trucking companies are abundant here. Recreational opportunities also abound, in the immediate area as well as in the nearby north Georgia mountains. You could hunt in some of the more outlying, more rural areas (e.g., northern Cherokee County).
If outdoors is important to you Atlanta, Nashville, Greenville, and other more centrally located cities would probably suit you better.
