As far as Chicago, I still sometimes feel it can be a little hard even with the elevated trains cause NYC also has elevated trains. If you ride down Liberty Ave in Queens, you are riding right beneath the C train.
Isn't a dead giveaway to me UNLESS you are just familiar with Chicago L trains enough to know what's different about them and NYC trains... But for someone in Kansas that has never been to either place, do you think they can tell the difference?
The difference is Chicago has elevated trains running right through the city center, going past skyscrapers, New York City does not (though it used to). There is a difference between the two, in that New York City tends to put its elevated on narrower streets, blocking light. Chicago either has them on wider streets or off the street.
Less claustrophic. The elevated NYC ones add to the grittiness, and IMO, look quintessentially NYC. Though, yea someone not familiar with the cities wouldn't realize that.
Maaaaan... You kind of just destroyed my test (on page 8) by giving away the details of the differences. LOL...
But let's see what happens anyway. I wonder how many people that have never been to either place still could look at some of those google map shots and know the difference in it being in NYC vs Chicago (aside from the fact that it's marked ON THE MAP... Lol).
It depends - if you're talking skyline, in my mind it is Washington, DC and San Francisco hands down. Neighborhood shots are a tough call. Does someone living in another country know the difference between a neighborhood in Philly and Boston? Doubtful.
For the pictures going off intial guess, some very educated and pretty simple
1 NYC
2 Chicago
3 NYC (unsure but water towers seem most prominent there)
4 Boston (guess)
5 Chicago
6 Chicago
7 Philly
8 Philly
9 Chicago
10 Chicago
11 Philly
12 Chicago
