Compare these places in terms of architecture, nightlife bars, nightlife clubs, nightlife pedestrian energy, transportation, crowds in general, location, historic contributions to the city, restaurants, nearby residential living areas, nearby residential shopping areas, and whatever else comes to mind.

By the way, I like the palm tree lined streets present in Ybor City, haven't ever been but looked it up. Looks very Southern California like in that sense.

Ybor city is a nice place to live now? I haven't been in almost 10 years. When I went it was a nice tourist attraction with one big cultural/historical main street and you were told very clearly not to venture off this path for your own safety. I asked my friend that grew up in Tampa about this and he said Ybor City was a pretty rough place and had a gun pulled on him there on more than one occasion. Granted, he was probably hanging around with friends and at parties where stuff like that is more likely to happen, but still..........not sure how it is now.

Ybor is kind of douchey, and the areas around it is the hood or old industrial.
