As far as Texas goes, everything east of Dallas is truly 'southern'.

And by what criteria do you say this? Please give reasons...

but they call the beaches in the panhandle of Florida the Redneck Riviera. So my votes with Florida just because of that alone.
Uhhhh, do you know which Gulf Coast city first coined the term "Playground of the South."? Hint: It was Galveston, Texas!

There must be a good reason for that.
I am sure there is. Just as ala' Galveston and it's moniker!

When you can actually make a real list of your reasons for asserting what you do? Then gosh, please provide them. If you can't? Wellll, it pretty much confirms....
I will provide my reasons when necessary. Right now, at this instant, it is necessary.

I think you meant to say it isn't necessary, right?

Hell, I don't blame you for the cop-out! From your past posts? It is par for the proverbial course!

Houston

Houston

Aside from the housing stock, Houston and New Orleans have closer cultural ties.

Lol this thread is back in circulation. Florida is more southern overall, and you can even find elements of southern culture even in Key West. You want find a trace of southern culture in extreme western Texas. North Florida is the strong hold for Florida's southern culture, but it can be found all over the state, just watch an episode of cops in Brevard County FL and tell me that that's not southern.
