When a person lives in LA, he/she is a an Angeleno. I am not aware there are other standards.

The division between transplants and natives is obvious in LA. Native Angeleno and transplant Angeleno are almost two entirely different cultures and people.

The poll picks the Bay too. It's a real hustle and bustle there and not boring and slow paced like L.A. which is like sac and san diego in urban development

Greater LA is a far better place to live by almost any metric.

San Francisco has a small number of very powerful industries like tech and finance and the liberal non-profit/NGO sector, but if you don't work in one of those industries, San Francisco is not that great of a place to be. While San Francisco is perhaps economically more important to the country, LA is much larger with a lot more going on. LA also has sun, beaches, surf and beautiful weather almost year round.

Except for stuff like education, poverty, unemployment rate, pollution, salaries, home ownership rate, etc... you know like pretty much every quantifiable quality of life measurement.
