Summer Olympics have had plenty of discussion here before, how about Winter Olympics? Discussion points include climate, infrastructure, money and sponsors, existing amenities and potential for construction of amenities, IOC likely favorites, etc..
Choose from the following...
Denver
Montreal
Quebec City
Boise/Sun Valley
Anchorage, AK
or perhaps some repeats
Calgary
Squaw Valley
Lake Placid
Salt Lake City
Vancouver
or Other (such as large ski resort towns and areas).
It does seem to be a trend for many Olympic sites in recent years for larger cities instead of the well known ski resort towns themselves.

Denver turned one down in the 70's didn't they? Boston? Closest Olympic worthy skiing venue is 2-3 hours away in NH/Vermont.
Reno could be interesting, especially for the city if it got an Olympic facelift, as I always thought of it as not much more than a divey casino city that happens to be located near some awesome mountain terrain and Lake Tahoe.

Yes, which is why I don't think Denver will get it for a LONG time. But I hope they look past it. We're a totally different city now! And I think we could host it no problem. If not Denver, they should go with Colorado Springs. They bid for it before but lost.

Why I do agree with that to some degree, it's not like money wouldnt be poured into the games and resorts. Atleast that's my thinking.
Anchorage could be very cool, it's a city often overlooked that could have some its potential tapped into. I wonder what the Alaskan locals would think. Alyeska is a fantastic resort. Probably best held in March so it won't be too cold and added daylight hours.
