Demographically, but not politically. Mexico's also too poor to be compared to California.

GDP per capita and household disposable income figures say otherwise. Educate yourself on California before you say this!

If you're talking about the California government being in massive debt, well, Ontario's government is in even bigger debt.

WTF are you talking about? There is nothing like silicon valley in Canada. Our populations are of a similar size.

As far as what place is more liberal, it's hard to say. I think places like the bay area traditionally were very liberal. Not sure about inland California though. Not every where in Canada is super liberal either. Even our cities are recieving more and more extrememly conservative immigrants. Also very wealthy ones. Vancouver BC is a city with very little going for it, yet it is one of the most expensive places in North America to buy a home. It has become an elitist city.

Yes, because all 39 million Californians work at Silicon Valley.

LOL

Unfortunately GDP per capita means nothing in a place with so much inequality.

That is why we see more people living on the streets of Skid Row than in the Malibu Hills. That is why so many are leaving the state every day.

Skid row is only a tiny fraction of the population. Have you heard of downtown east side in Vancouver? Main and higgins in Winnipeg? Have you seen the deplorable conditions of many Native first nation communities? We are no position to condemn them for place like skid row when we have our own inequality and drug problems.

Many people leave the state, a lot of people also move their to work in one of its many of its industries.

There is no place remotely similar to Skid Row in all of Canada.

Of course there are homeless, but it is not even close to the levels seen in California.

There is a reason why Canada is usually ranked in the top 10 countries for quality of life, unlike the US.

There is no metro area in Canada the size of LA. DTES in vancouver is still pretty damn bad and it is much smaller than LA or SFC.

You said California was too poor to be compared to Canada. That is simply not true. I am willing to bet that way more Canadians move to California than the other way around.
