Over: Portland, Portland, Portland, San Diego, Santa Barbara, La Jolla, Eugene, Phoenix, Denver, Fort Collins, Bend, Corvallis, the dreary wet turds of towns that are the Oregon "coast", Las Vegas, Reno, Tahoe, Provo, Breckenridge, Jackson Hole, Telluride, Boulder, all the yuppie towns of Montana except Missoula and also all the non-yuppie towns except Butte, all the mid sized dumps of the west that are rated at all are by definition overrated, and also Portland.

If you include Vancouver, BC it is the most overrated place ever on earth, period. Except maybe Portland.

Under: LA, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, Oakland, Berkeley, Santa Cruz, Olympia, Tacoma, Tuscon, El Paso/Juarez,

LA and Seattle are taking a beating in this thread.. Sacramento seems to be getting a lot of love.. I could see why LA is over rated.. It is the media's fault mostly.. LA is not the paradise with blondes parading around in bikinis like they show on Baywatch It is like any other big city in the US with it's own problems like high cost of living, traffic, crime, segregation, air pollution etc..

Overrated: San Diego, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles to an extent...
Underrated: Boise, Tucson, Flagstaff, Monterey CA, Salt Lake City, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, and Sacramento

To an earlier poster: How is Reno overrated? Nobody ever mentions that place, and lots of people make fun of it yet they've never been there or gone outside the general areas around the casinos. Maybe Lake Tahoe but what's overrated about it, the towns/areas near it?
