I think Hollywood loves NYC and SF because it portrays desirable walking cities with highend Italian restaurants. LA lacks character of walking cities and is less desirable to Hollywood. It needs to be like NYC and SF. What can LA do to be more desirable?

LA is very desirable....what the hell are you talking about? One thing LA has going on for it that SF and NYC don't is weather and beaches. SF has beaches but they are underwhelming compared to LA's. And don't underestimate LA's overseas desirability.

This.
I'm not sure how the history of LA has shown it is not desirable compared to a city similar in size and one much smaller.

Hollywood likes LA well enough. That's why it doesn't get blown up in movies most of the time.
There are plenty of movies that showcase LA.

I don't think San Francisco's beaches are underwhelming at all. It just depends on what you're expecting. Of course, when you think California you think of Huntington Beach, La Jolla, Newport, etc. but Northern California is rather impressive with its cliffs instead and unconventional SoCal beach culture.

It's that BS "Culture" aspect that elitists like to think SF and NYC have but LA doesn't. They are fools.

I wish LA was less desirable. Maybe real estate wouldn't be so expensive then.

LA is very desirable. It's a great place to be if you enjoy that style of urban environment. It's the best of it in the US. It is very different from SF and NY, though. Why compare them? People who love LA don't waste their time pondering SF or NY. The opposite is also true.

oh please, SF's urban environment is much more in line with LA's urban environment than NYC, please don't try and make SF something it is not
