Athens is the other GA city besides Savannah that should really be highlighted here.

Laughable. Since when Athens became more urban than Columbus?

Athens has a more walkable and vibrant urban core than Columbus. Nothing laughable about it.

Sorry, but I refuse to stoop to your childish level.

I'm done with this conversation.
Interpret it how you will, but if it's true, I'm sure more folks besides yourself can attest to it. Maybe *I'm* the one missing something.

And you didn't even touch my points regarding NOLA I see.

I truly dig Savannah but this is all a bit much coming from you.

Of course you do, but anyone who's been to both downtowns can clearly see that Athens has the advantage.

Mutiny, Newsboy is correct in this one. The squares make the city more pedestrian friendly and the size of the sidewalk (mainly the distance you are away from moving traffic) make a huge difference in how pedestrian friendly a city can be.

Also, Columbus is extremely urban and definitely walkable. I wouldn't call it vibrant although that is changing fast as Columbus State University rapidly expands in Uptown Columbus.
Believe CSU has nearly 500 students living downtown. Street traffic has increased dramatically. Seems like there are new restaurants and bars opening up all of the time. Downtown Columbus is seeing major growth right now.

You can disagree all you want, but it doesn't make Columbus more walkable and vibrant than Athens.

Athens has this one.

Athens is probably the most walkable city in Georgia after Atlanta and Savannah. Columbus is doing well too.

He's correct in what? That downtown Savannah is "easily" the most walkable and urban place in all of the South? Or that it's even more walkable than large northern urban centers? You'd be hard pressed to find someone familiar with Savannah, Baltimore, DC, and Philly say that Savannah is more urban and walkable than them all but I suppose you could fall into that category.
