Which has the richest history, a good number of great historical sights, and some nice towns with an old style atmosphere (like Gettysburg or Williamsburg, less touristy is even better)
Please give examples of the towns if you think of any!

Probably Georgia. Savannah alone is rich in history. Atlanta has a decent amount of history simply because of it's size.

Tough to say; all have their advantages. Some cities/towns to check out off the top of my head:

NC: Wilmington, New Bern, Winston-Salem, Asheville, Bath
SC: Charleston, Beaufort, Georgetown, Camden, Cheraw
GA: Savannah, Macon, Madison, Milledgeville, Thomasville

I think South Carolina, closely followed by Georgia, then NC.

South Carolina. Charleston one of the most historic cities in the country.

I would have to agree with this. Especially considering that the Civil War started in SC and many forget that Charleston at one point was one of the largest cities and important economic hubs for our young country. The urban centers in NC and GA do a great job of illustrating the transition of the New South. Eastern NC is full of that history. All 3 would be wonderful.

Greensboro is cool but not among the best cities in the state for a history buff IMO.
